Comment
Pulmonary sequestration is a rare malformation that is defined as a mass of abnormal lung tissue that does not communicate with the tracheobronchial tree through normally connected bronchus and that usually receives its blood supply from a systemic artery. It can be divided into two main subtypes: (1) extralobar sequestration and (2) intralobar sequestration. In extralobar sequestration, the sequestration is completely separated and enclosed in its own pleural sac, whereas intralobar

Clinical presentation with hemoptysis would be explained by recurrent infectious processes that facilitate connections between the sequestration and the normal pulmonary parenchyma4,5 and the subsequent perfusion of the sequestration at systemic pressure.6,7 Conversely, diagnostic imaging studies and its subsequent follow-up have allowed for us to properly define relevant parameters associated with this pathology, regardless of subtype.
