Unfortunately, in this article in the December 2020 issue of the European Respiratory Review a reference was included that has now been retracted. The reference was:

58 Aboumatar H, Naqibuddin M, Chung S, et al. Effect of a program combining transitional care and long-term self-management support on outcomes of hospitalized patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a randomized clinical trial. JAMA 2018; 320: 2335–2343.

The article in JAMA was retracted in October 2019 and replaced with a revised version based on correct interpretation of the authors’ data. A retraction notice has been published: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2752474

Therefore, the reference in the European Respiratory Review article by Machado et al. has been replaced with the revised JAMA article:

58 Aboumatar H, Naqibuddin M, Chung S, et al. Effect of a hospital-initiated program combining transitional care and long-term self-management support on outcomes of patients hospitalized with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a randomized clinical trial. JAMA 2019; 322: 1371–1380.

Due to the inclusion of the new reference in the article by Machado et al., the data for health-related quality of life have changed from (WMD 16.07, 95% CI 10.29–21.84) to (WMD 14.64, 95% CI 8.73–20.54) in the abstract, main text and table 2. Figure 4b has also been replaced. A correct version of the figure can be found below. In addition, Appendix 1 and Table S1 in the supplementary material have also been replaced.
