Thoracic organ transplantation from donation-after-cardiac-death donors

Transplantation. 2009 Jul 27;88(2):147-8. doi: 10.1097/TP.0b013e3181abbdcb.

Abstract

Human lung and heart transplantation using donation-after-cardiac-death donors has recently been shown to be feasible and associated with excellent clinical results. Considering this, if we are to avoid confusing the lay and medical public, perhaps the better term is donation-after-cardiocirculatory death.
