Lung transplantation for pulmonary hypertension with giant pulmonary artery aneurysm
2020, Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular SurgeryPrevalence and prognostic significance of pulmonary artery aneurysms in adults with congenital heart disease
2018, International Journal of CardiologyCitation Excerpt :Whether and to what degree hemodynamic stress plays a facilitating role or whether wall abnormalities are inherent or acquired remain uncertain. Contrary to what happens in PH populations [9, 11, 25, 26], our study suggests a low prognostic impact of PA dilatation in adults with CHD. PA dilatation was not progressive over time.
Sudden death due to dissection of the thoracic aorta associated with dissection and rupture of the pulmonary artery: Report of two cases
2014, Forensic Science InternationalPulmonary artery dilatation correlates with the risk of unexpected death in chronic arterial or thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension
2012, ChestCitation Excerpt :Although in the present study autopsies were performed in only two of 26 patients with PAH who died unexpectedly, in both cases cardiac tamponade due to dissection of the dilated PA was found. We are aware of > 70 published cases of PA dissection.5–9,12 In most of them it occurred in the setting of PH (including 26 patients with CHD and 13 with “primary” PH), and the diagnosis could only be made at autopsy.
