  • Skin auto-fluorescence as a measure of advanced glycation end-products is associated with microvascular health in patients with COPD

    2020, Microvascular Research
    Citation Excerpt :

Based on earlier studies in patients with diabetes mellitus, we expected skin AF to be associated with microvascular health in patients with COPD. Patients with COPD were recruited at Ciro (Horn, the Netherlands) before the start of a comprehensive pulmonary rehabilitation program (Spruit et al., 2008). Patients were eligible to participate in the current study if they were diagnosed with COPD and had no acute exacerbation in the past four weeks.
